The Southland is in bloom. This fall, the Village of Hazel Crest and South Side Radio Live invite the community to gather at the Hazel Crest Creative Arts Center for an evening where art, music, and culture intertwine like vines on a trellis.
From 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, the newly reimagined space at 17030 Dixie Highway will pulse with rhythm, flavor, and connection. Hosted by Laura Miller, with the sonic landscape curated by Otez G, the Blooming Arts Garden is more than a concert — it’s a cultural happening.
The Soundtrack of the Evening
Nina Taylor, Chicago’s own R&B songbird, will bring velvet vocals and soul-stirring energy.

Peter Jericho, Afrobeat ambassador, will lace the night with global grooves that bridge
continents and generations.

Together, they’ll turn the Creative Arts Center into a living garden of sound — rooted in tradition, blossoming with innovation.
A Marketplace in Bloom
Beyond the stage, the grounds will be alive with local vendors, offering food, art, and handmade goods. It’s a chance to support small businesses, discover new flavors, and take a piece of the evening home.
Why It Matters
The Blooming Arts Garden is more than a one-night event — it’s part of Hazel Crest’s ongoing transformation of the Creative Arts Center into a cultural cornerstone. Each gathering plants seeds of unity, creativity, and economic growth, ensuring that the Southland’s artistic ecosystem continues to thrive.
Final Word
On September 27, the South Side will gather not just to listen, but to grow together. The Blooming Arts Garden is proof that when music, art, and community converge, the result is nothing short of radiant.
